- Conventional cotton farming accounts for 25% of pesticide use worldwide.
- GMO seeds threaten not just the environment but the financial independence and wellbeing of farmers.
- In 2016 the Global Slavery Index estimated that 46 MILLION people are living in modern slavery, which includes forced cotton harvest and manufacture of cheap fabric (i.e. sweatshops) used by many "fast fashion" brands.
